Jonathan Mederos
I'm a running coach, masters runner and PE teacher. I have been running competitively since 2002. I have run 4:41 in the mile, 16:03 for 5K, 33:45 for 10K, 1:14 for the half marathon, and 2:56 for the full (Boston qualifier). I am USATF and VDOT certified and my passion is exercise physiology applied to runners.
I believe that coaching is first and foremost an art. It's about connecting with other human beings, truly caring about them, good communication skills, and adapting training to their needs. I help athletes who love running and come to me ready and able to work hard. My athletes want to get faster and are prepared to put in the amount of work that is required. I talk a lot about the importance of consistency, creating good habits, and long-term improvement.
